It is then up to you to embark on a rescue mission and answer the questions left unanswered. Plague City RS3 Requirements
Before jumping into the mystery in West Ardougne, you have to know the requirements for this quest. It can be hard to understand what happened and how the Plague impacted the city. This mystery will evolve into a multipart storyline, but for Plague City in RS3, these are the requirements.
Requirements
Once you understand the problem at hand and your interest in Plague City in RS3 sparks up, it’s time to know the essentials for the quest:

- 1x Chocolate dust
- 1x Snape grass
- 1x Bucket of milk
- 1x Free inventory space
Plague City RS3 is a pathfinder quest, where players need an active membership to be able to start the quest and be at the Fifth Age. Though not essential for your adventure in Plague City RS3 we recommend having Quick Teleport Charges and having unlocked Ardougne lodestone. During this quest, players won’t need to engage in combat with any enemies along the way, as Plague City focuses on the lore and the mystery around the plague in West Ardougne.
Plague City Quest Guide RS3
Let’s begin the journey by travelling to Ardougne, the city where the plague is creating chaos. The first thing to do is to head north of East Ardougne from the castle and take a turn northwest to the farm. Find Edmond in his garden, north of the Flying Horse Inn, and talk to him; this will trigger the beginning of the Plague City RS3.
The Missing Daughter
When you speak with Edmond, he tells you about his daughter, Elena, who went to West Ardougne to investigate the plague, and he is worried about her, as she has yet to return. Alrena is inside the house; you’ll need to walk in and speak with her. Offer your assistance to Edmond, and he will tell you to talk to his wife, Alrena. She will help you get some gear to protect you from the plague; including the offer of making you a gas mask. All you need to do is bring her some Dwellberries.
If you have the Dwellberries in your inventory already, excellent; however, if you don’t have the Dwellberries, you can find some inside the McGrubor’s Wood enclave. It can be challenging once you enter through the railings on the northern boundary, as there are some level 33 guard dogs, so try to avoid them as much as possible. Once you give Alrena the berries, she will make a mask for you. Don’t worry if you lose your mask, you will find another one in the wardrobe. The only thing left to do is to take a picture of Elena from inside the house; It will be a key part later on in the quest
Under the Walls
After getting the gas mask, head back and speak with Edmond again. This time, he will tell you about the inability to access West Ardougne. He will then inform you of his plan, which is to dig under the wall of the city, all the way down through the Ardougne sewers, and enter the city this way.
The first thing to do after speaking with Edmond again is to soften the ground. To do so, uses buckets of water on the mud patch in his garden, making the soil soft enough to dig. You will need to take the spade left in the garden and continue digging through the soil until you reach the sewers. If you don’t bring a bucket of water to the quest, there is a bucket spawn in the garden as well as a water source in Edmond’s house.
Upon arrival in the sewers, head south and find a pipe blocked by a grill. If you try to pull off the grill, you will find you’re not strong enough to do it; use the rope on the pipe and speak with Edmond to get his help with pulling off the grill. Edmond will tell you to meet with his friend Jethick. He will be helpful in your search for finding Elena. Once the path is clear and there are no other distractions, put on the gas mask and climb into the Plague City.
Plague City
Finally, you are in West Ardougne; it’s time to head to the town square immediately. You will find Jethick there, ask him about Elena, and show him the picture of her you got from the house. He will confirm Elena is in the city, helping people, and it’s currently at the Rehnisons’ house. Before leaving to find the house, Jethicks will ask you to find and give back a book borrowed from the family.
After Jethick's request, head north of the town square and try to enter the house; sadly, it will be locked. Knock on the door, mention Jethicks sent you to return the borrowed book, and they will let you in. Head inside the house and talk to Martha or Ted Rehnison; any of them will tell you that Elena used to stay with them. Though now she has plans to move out, but something terrible happened. They will tell you to speak with Mili, their daughter, located upstairs in her room.
When you meet Mili and speak with her, she will tell you she saw how Elena was kidnapped by some shadow figures when she was playing in the southeast of the city. She will detail how Elena was put in a sack and taken into a boarded house marked with a big cross and no windows to look inside.
Finding the Path to Elena
Following the story Mili told you about Elena, it’s time to leave the Rehnisons’ house and head south from the town square to find the house where Elena was taken. The marked house is behind a row of crumbling houses, so you will have to go south of the broken-down chapel to try and enter the house. Unfortunately, this will be impossible, as the mourners refuse you entry due to the devastating effects of the plague.
You have to insist on entering and checking for a kidnapped girl regardless of their answer. They will deny you access and tell you that you must apply for clearance from the head mourner or Bravek, the city warder. At this point, it’s time to head back to the town square and enter a large building located north of the manhole. Speak with the clerk and explain to him that you require entrance to the plague house and that it is essential you do so in order to find a missing girl.
The clerk will let you see Bravek, go upstairs, and then inside the eastern room. When you enter the room to speak with him, he will barely speak to you since he’s hung over. Bravek will give you a scruffy note with the recipe to cure the hangover; the remedy was given to him by the town's previous herbalist Trudi.
You have to make the cure for him by mixing chocolate dust with the bucket of milk, creating chocolatey milk. The next step is to add snape grass to the mix to finish the hangover cure. Be careful creating this mix because the main option will be “Drink”, and there are probabilities of clicking on it.
Rescuing Elena
Once the hangover mix is finished, give it to Bravek; he will drink it and tell you he feels better now. Finally, you talk to him about the plagued house and the mourners. Bravek tells you it’s a usual scene since they won’t listen to anyone, so he will give you a warrant that grants you permission to access the house and search for Elena.
Go back to the house and try to enter again, this time using the warrant at the east door to gain access easily. The mourner guardian will talk to her partner about the warrant authenticity but provide you with access to sneak inside at the end. Once inside, search for the barrel on the west side near a staircase to find a small key. You need to go downstairs to the basement and unlock the cell where you’ll find Elena.
When you meet her, she will tell you about what she was doing before being kidnapped. Elena was about to return to East Ardougne after getting some samples to analyze and find a cure for the plague, but before she got the chance, she was snatched and placed in this cell. Elena will thank you and tell you to speak with her father to receive a reward. The only thing left to do is to head back to Edmond and Alrena’s house through the sewers using the manhole. Upon your return, speak with Edmond, and the quest will finish.
