Welcome back!
Welcome back to another installment of the Divica Sales blog series; in this week's issue, we will discuss the RS3 quest, Recipe for Disaster! We'll walk you through the requirements, recommendations, and much more to allow you to sail through your RuneScape journey easily. So, let's get into it!
What is Recipe for Disaster in RS3?
This quest appeared on March 15, 2006, and is only available to members. It is a part of the Legendary timeline, and its start area is Lumbridge. Recipe for Disaster in RS3 is a sequel to the Cook's Assistant quest and comprises ten subquests ranging in difficulty from the easiest to very hard.
The mini-quest series is designed so that almost all members can easily begin the journey, but you must rack up the accomplishments to complete it successfully.
What Do I Need to Do in Recipe for Disaster in RS3?
The Lumbridge cook lacks ingredients in his kitchen, all thanks to nimble-fingered newcomers who have been stealing his supplies! In previous events, the Cook's Assistant has been on hand to save the day; unfortunately, now there have been some issues. This has led us to a possibly disastrous event, and our quest Recipe for Disaster is born!
It will become your job, through a series of 10 mini-quests, to solve his problems indefinitely, so let's get into the requirements.
RS3 Recipe for Disaster Requirements

Another Cooks Assistant in Recipe for Disaster RS3 Walkthrough
Upon completing this mini-quest, you will be invited to the feast. To enter, go through the doors of the dining room, and you will see the members of the Secret Council of Gielinor around the table.
The Duke will begin his introductions, but before he gets far, a Mysterious Old Man will interrupt. He will then be teleported to handle a situation. Osman will be taken by Evil Bob as you enter the room, and shortly after, the Culinaromancer will make an appearance, crashing the party by attacking attendees with magic spells.
At which time Aris, the fortune teller of Varrock, will enter casting Tempus Cessit. This freezes everyone present except herself and you; she will then explain that the Culinaromancer was the Lumbridge cook one hundred years ago, where he threatened to kill the secret council. Because of this, the Duke's assistant trapped him in an alternate dimension.
The problem is the head cook that required your assistance for this feast created a powerful food magic. This magic somehow released the Culinaromancer from his isolated state, at which point Arius cast her spell to protect the council.
Aris holds you responsible for the Culinaromancer's release, so she issues you the task of saving the council from a terrible fate. You have quite a serious task on your hands, as the magic being used to keep the council safe can also destroy the fabric of reality itself! Now let's take a look at the next steps in our Recipe for Disaster RS3 walkthrough.
Freeing the Goblins Generals in Recipe for Disaster RS3 Walkthrough
To kick start this mini-quest, you have to inspect one of the Goblin Generals seated at the table. Arris will then inform you that you need to head to Goblin Village to find the Goblins' favorite dish. Upon arrival, you will speak with the Goblin Generals, who will be of little help due to their argumentative behaviors. Following this interaction, head into the building southeast of the Generals and climb down the ladder.
At this point, you will meet Mudknuckles, the Goblins' cook. He is in need of charcoal, which you will supply him with. He will then add the charcoal, sulfur, and potassium nitrate to his cauldron, causing an explosive cutscene.
Following this cutscene, speak again with Mudknuckles, this time regarding the Generals' meals. He will inform you that you need orange slices that aren't orange (hence the need for dye that is any color but the ones mentioned previously), maggots that aren't bland, and bread that isn't crunchy.
Use the required items to create the correct ingredients and give them to Mudknuckles; he will then provide you with the Slop of Compromise. Make your way back to the Lumbridge Castle and give the generals their meal to release them.

Freeing the Mountain Dwarf in Recipe for Disaster RS3 Walkthrough
Begin by inspecting the Mountain Dwarf; at this point, Aris will tell you that you must speak with the Dwarf's father. First, you must teleport to Falador and go to the Rising Sun Inn to speak with Emily or Kaylee. Ask what they can tell you about 'dwarves and ale,' and you will be offered the recipe for Asgoldian Ale for 200 coins. She will inform you that adding a gold coin to the Ale will change it from Asgarnian to Asgoldian Ale. Create the Ale and make your way to the next stage of this RS3 Recipe for Disaster mini-quest.
Your next step is to locate the Mountain Dwarf's father, so make your way to the tunnel under White Wolf Mountain and begin your search for an 'Old Dwarf' in the bar area. Once located, speak with him; he will first refuse to supply you with the recipe, so here's where your Asgoldian Ale comes in handy. You need to give him four ales in order to get him to agree to make you a rock cake.
Once you supply him with the fourth Ale, a brief fade out will show, and the screen will read, 'Several beers later…'. Once you have seen this, provide him with a fifth Asgoldian Ale, or he will sober up; this will render the previous steps void, and you must begin again.
If you are successful, provide the Old Dwarf (named Rohak) with 100 coins plus the necessary ingredients for the rock cake. He will then bake you the cake; you must wear your gloves to collect it. Do so quickly, or the cake will vanish, and you will have to begin the mini-quest again from the point of collecting ingredients.
Your next task is to cool the cake down for the Mountain Dwarf's consumption. If you collect the cake while wearing Ice Gloves, it will be ready for consumption immediately; if not, you have two options. Firstly you can leave the cake in your inventory for around four hours; doing so will bring it down to an acceptable temperature. If you have little patience for this method, you'll need to make your way to the Ice Mountain and slay an Icefiend, then use their breath to cool the cake.
Now with your adequately cooled rock cake, head back to Lumbridge Castle and give it to the Mountain Dwarf.
Rewards

- Slayer EXP (1000)
- Cooking EXP (1000)
- Additional access to the Culinaromancer Chest

Freeing Evil Dave in Recipe for Disaster RS3 Walkthrough
Begin this Recipe for Disaster RS3 mini-quest by inspecting Evil Dave. Aris will inform you that you need to make him a stew to free him from the spell. To do so, you'll need a recipe. Head to Evil Dave's Basement of Doom (his mothers' basement) in Edgeville. Locate Dave's mother, Doris, and speak with her before heading into the trap door. Locate Evil Dave and ask him what he ate at the meeting; he will ask why. Select the fourth option presented, and he will tell you, 'It was like, this totally evil stew!" Just like his mother makes.
Once you receive this information, head back upstairs and speak with Doris again. She will then inform you that Dave's Hellrats have stolen all her spices, so you must go back to the basement, using your cats to catch the Hellrats. They will drop ashes and random spices; you must collect at least a few four-dose shakers of each spice before you're ready to make the recipe. It is important to note that within 7-10 catches, your cat will become a Hellcat. If you wish to change it back, give it a milk bucket or speak with Doris.
The next step is to create the perfect balance of spices to make the perfect stew. Each shaker you collect will have between 1-4 doses inside, and you will need between 1-3 of the spices to create the perfect balance. You will need to give Dave taste tests to determine whether the amounts are correct, hence the need for spare stews.
Once you have created the perfectly balanced stew, give Dave a final taste test before returning to Lumbridge to free him from the spell.
Rewards
- Quest Point (1)
- Cooking EXP (7000)
- Get Hellcat by catching Hellrats.
- Additional access to the Culinaromancer's Chest
- Treasure Hunter Keys (2)
Freeing the Lumbridge Sage in Recipe for Disaster RS3 Walkthrough
Inspect the Lumbridge Sage, and Aris will tell you he needs a Cake of Guidance, suggesting you speak with Traiborn in the Wizards' Tower for assistance with the cake. To make your way there, use the teleport from the Wicked Hood and locate Traiborn on the second floor; upon speaking with him, he will inform you that you must enchant the ingredients.
To enchant the egg, you will need to imbue the egg with knowledge. To do so, you must speak with an NPC whom Traiborn will introduce you to. They will ask you who they are; you must answer correctly three times to enchant the egg.
Following your three correct answers, return to Traiborn and repeat the words he says (Dandolino Zadribrim) to finalize the enchantment.
To enchant the milk, Traiborn will ask you three general knowledge questions about RuneScape. Once you have correctly answered his questions, once again repeat the words he says (this time 'Skalidom Ralinaplo').
The final item you must enchant is the flour; to do so, you must pass a memory test. You will then be shown three sets of ten items, one set at a time, before being asked to answer a question about each set. Once you answer the three questions correctly, Traiborn will then state more words for you to repeat (Splendidium Romano). Once you have done so, you will have the enchanted ingredients.
You will then be tasked with creating the cake itself; begin by using the ingredients on a cake tin, creating a Raw guide cake. You must then cook the cake on the Lumbridge Castle range to receive the Cake of Guidance; following this, return to the hall and use it on the Lumbridge Sage to complete the mini-quest.
Rewards

- Magic EXP (2500)
- Cooking EXP (2500)
- Additional access to Culinaromancer's Chest
- Treasure Hunters Key (2)
- Mastermindless - music
Freeing Pirate Pete in Recipe for Disaster RS3 Walkthrough
Once again, begin your mini-quest by inspecting Pirate Pete, and Aris will tell you that you will need fishcakes to free him from the spell; she will suggest speaking with the cook. Make your way to the cook, and he will inform you of the needed ingredients, keep in mind that below Cooking level 62, you may burn the fishcakes, so spare ingredients may be a good call for this stage of the Recipe for Disaster guide in RS3. One of the necessary ingredients is Ground Crab meat; you must ask the cook about it. He will inform you that Murphy of Port Khazard can help you with this stage. However, Murphy will not speak with you if you do not ask the cook these questions.
You'll next need to make your way to the Port, locate Murphy, and ask him about the Giant Crabs. He will inform you that he can fashion your breathing apparatus with a fish bowl and take you diving for crabs and kelp. Return to him with a fish bowl in your inventory, and he will provide you with a fish bowl helmet and diving equipment.
It is vital that your weight remains below 27kg for this stage, so prepare accordingly. Once you have ensured you are prepared, inform Murphy to begin the dive. Once underwater, find the kelp and pick it; once you have done so, swim north to locate the crab pen.
When you arrive, you will be greeted by the Morge Guards. Speak with the one named Nung, informing him you need one of the large crabs. He will then ask you to bring him five Mudskipper hides. You must then go west to the Mudskipper caves and pick up five rocks before entering, take down five Mudskippers, and get the hides. After exiting the cavern, make your way back to Nung and give him the hides, as well as the needle and the bronze wires, and then open the door; it is vital you have these on your person before entering as the Mudskipper hides can not exit the water. Enter the pen and kill a crab for the needed meat. It may also be wise to take down a few extra in case of burning.
Leave the pen and swim south to the anchor to exit the water. You must then return to Lumbridge Castle and prepare the fishcakes. Grind the crab meat and kelp, then speak with the cook to unlock the ability to grind the cod also. Then, using a knife create breadcrumbs from your bread; this is also a step that must be unlocked by speaking with the cook.
Once you have finished the above steps, again speak to the cook, navigating the conversation to the 'Protecting the Pirate' option; at this point, you will be informed that the cook knows how to make the fishcakes. Mix the ingredients to receive raw fishcakes, then cook them and return to the banquet hall and give them to Pirate Pete; this will successfully end this mini-quest.

- Crafting EXP (1000)

Freeing Skrach Uglogwee in Recipe for Disaster RS3 Walkthrough
Again, begin by inspecting Skrach, at which point Aris will inform you that the dish needed to free him from the spell is Jubbly Chompy Bird. She suggests, rather unenthusiastically, that Rantz of Feldip Hills may be able to help you, as using your own will not suffice.
Head to Feldip Hills and speak with Rantz. He will inform you that Skrach does, in fact, like Jubbly Chompy Bird, but he has some conditions before helping you create the dish. You must travel to Karamja to make a potion, he tells you, at which point he will guide you to the shoreline, where you will find a tree on the water line. Speak again with Rantz, and he will kick down the old tree before asking you to make a boat. Do so using your hatchet and inform him the boat is ready. He will then shoot a steel brutal arrow into a tree on Karamja. He will then tell you to cook the Chompy 'by da stabbed!' Ensure you have both logs and raw chompies before you head to Karamja.
Once there, head northwest of Tai Bow Wannai village, searching the beach until you locate a small palm tree with an ogre arrow piercing it. Make a fire below the tree and use your iron spit and raw Chompy to cook the Skewered Chompy. If you are successful in your attempt, Rantz children will collect you on the boat and bring you back to their father.
Upon returning to Rantz, he will tell you you'll need a Balloon Toad for bait. You'll need to fill your Ogre Bellow with swamp bubbles, then use the Bellow on a Toad to receive a Bloated Toad. Next, you must head directly west of The swamp to mine one of the three Feldip Swamp Rocks before using the bellows on the Toad again to create a Balloon Toad; remember to ensure your Bellows have swamp bubbles, or the process will be ineffective.
Drop your Balloon Toad in one of three places, south of Rantz, east of the Gnome Glider, or by the blue flower. This should attract a Jubbly, at which point you can take it down using your Ogre Bow, pluck the carcass, and take the meat back to Rantz cave to cook.
Once you have created the appropriate dish, head back to Lumbridge Castle and provide Skrach with his meal to release him from the spell. Now, onto the next rescue of the Recipe for Disaster RS3 guide!

Freeing Sir Amik Varze in Recipe for Disaster RS3 Walkthrough
Just like with every other recipe journey in this RS3 Recipe for Disaster guide, you will need to start by speaking to Sir Amik Varze. Aris will inform you his dish of choice is Creme Brûlée Supreme, and she will then advise you to speak with the cook next door in order to get help with the recipe. She will also then inform you it's a good thing you speak with the Wise Old Man regarding the Evil Chicken.
When speaking with the cook, he will tell you about battling the Culinaromancer, ask how he did so, and he will ask what you don't remember. You must then ask about Sir Amik, and the cook will inform you how to create the correct mixtures and where to obtain the ingredients.
The Evil Chickens egg, Cinnamon, and Vanilla pod must be obtained in different areas. The Vanilla pods will be found in the Kharazi jungle, where you must locate Vanilla plants to harvest the pods. To get the egg, you must head to Draynor Village and speak with the Wise Old Man; ensure you select the correct option, or you will be sent to complete tasks for him. You must click "I'd just like to ask you something," then select the strange beast option, then the Evil Chicken one. He will go on to inform you of the chicken and its location.
You must use raw chicken on the Chicken Shrine, and this will allow you to enter the portal to the Evil Chicken's Lair. Ensure you have adequate weaponry to take down the chicken, and then run by the Black Dragons to get to the Evil Chicken. Once you have done so, engage in battle until you successfully slay the creature, and then take the eggs.
Finally, you must then acquire Cinnamon. To do so, grind a Dramen branch into Cinnamon, then add it to the dish. You'll need to go to the dungeon under Entrana and cut down the Dramen tree.
After acquiring the necessary ingredients, return to the Chicken's Lair to slay the Black Dragon. Place your raw chicken on the altar and take down the Dragon, who will then drop the Dragon Token. Make sure to collect this before leaving and making your way back to either Zanaros or Lumbridge; it's recommended that you equip an anti-dragon shield or take super antifire to protect you before you rub the token. Ice Gloves are also recommended for this; without them, you will receive 20-50 damage from the Fairy Dragon.
Now the Dragon will appear, and you must ask it to flambé your Creme brûlée dish to create a supreme Creme brûlée. Once that is done, make your way back to Lumbridge Castle and complete this mini-quest.
Rewards
- Quest Point (1)
- Cooking EXP (4000)
- Constitution EXP (4000)
- Access to Evil Chicken Lair
- Additional access to Culinaromancer Chest
- Treasure Hunter Key (2)
Freeing King Awowogei in Recipe for Disaster RS3 Walkthrough
Of course, you must begin by inspecting Awowogei, where Aris will tell you that you must create his favorite dish; only this time, she's not entirely sure what it is. First, You must head to the Atoll and speak with some of the monkeys. Locate the three monkeys and tell Mizaru that you're planning a party for the king; he will then tell you to stuff a large snake with banana slices and monkey nut paste.
You will need to head to Crash Island to locate and slay the snake, but be cautious, the snake pit contains five snakes which can all multi-attack and poison you. Once you take one of the snakes down, collect the corpse and bones and make your way to the three monkeys, taking a regular banana with you.
The monkeys will direct you west to the water's edge, where you will find a red banana tree. Unfortunately, you are not strong enough to harvest the bunches yourself, and only the gorillas are strong enough to do so, so ensure you have your Gorilla Monkey Greegree equipped. You must then use your rope to grab the bananas from the tree; once you have done so, slice it up with a knife and continue to do so with any others you obtain, as you are unable to hold more than one unsliced banana.
Next, you must collect the monkey nuts, which can be found on the Tchiki bush near the agility course hill. Wield your Ninja Monkey Greegree and enter the Ape Atoll Agility Course, making your way just past the rope swing to locate a hole. Enter the hole and take a monkey nut from the bush before grinding it up; similarly to the bananas, you can only hold one whole nut at a time, so make sure that you grind them before collecting another (three should suffice).
Now all that's left to do is prepare the final dish. Correctly mix your ingredients to create a raw stuffed snake, then return to the Temple of Marimbo. Climb down the trapdoor in the eastern part of the temple and then enter the dungeon. You'll need to cook the snake on the lava-heated rocks to finalize your dish.
Now, with your completed dish, return to Lumbridge Castle and serve the final dish of Recipe for Disaster in RS3!
Rewards
- Quest Point (1)
- Cooking EXP (10,000)
- Agility EXP (10,000)
- Ape Atoll Teleport spell
- Additional access to the Culinaromancer Chest
- Treasure Hunter Key (2)
RS3 Recipe for Disaster Final Battle
Once you have freed all the members of the council, a cutscene will begin. Aris
will be heard to say, "Tempus procedit!" at which point the Culinaromancer will flee through the portal. You must then follow him to complete the battle.
The first enemy you will encounter on your journey to finally defeat the Culinaromancer is Agrith-Na-Na. This boss uses melee as their attack strategy when you're close by and Fire blast when not, so make sure you prepare accordingly. Ranged attacks prove beneficial in this fight. Also, keep in mind that as you defeat the bosses in this final mini-quest, their new counterparts will instantly appear, so be ready.
Once you defeat Agrith Na-Na, your next contender is Flambeed. For this battle, you'll need ice gloves when using a weapon, but it is vital that you keep an inventory slot empty, or upon spawning the enemy, your Ice Gloves may be sent to the bank. We recommend using Water Spells and Ranged to conduct this battle.
Your next competitor is Karamel. To take on this boss, you're going to need restore potions in your inventory. Your best bet for a swift kill is to use Melee Ranged or Fire spells, as her Melee attacks pose little threat.
Following the demise of Karamel, you will have to face Dessourt. A good strategy for this fight is to use Ivan Blast and Ranged, as it pairs well against this boss's attacks. We also recommend carrying at least one restore potion up until this point, as he can drain stats. Don't forget that these enemies spawn immediately after one another, so you will need to prepare an adequate inventory before entering the battle.
Second, to last on your kill list in this Recipe for Disaster RS3 guide is Gelatinnoth Mother. This boss grants you somewhat of a helping hand in taking them down, as you can follow the damage done to her with this cycle:
- Wind spell (white)
- Water spell (blue)
- Melee attack (orange)
- Earth spell (brown)
- Fire spell (red)
- Ranged attack (green)
The cycle will then repeat itself after the green attack.
Finally, we've reached our endgame of the Recipe for Disaster RS3 walkthrough! It's now time to defeat the Culinaromancer once and for all. Upon the defeat of Gelatinnoth Mother, the Culinaromancer will appear, stating, "You have caused me enough grief!" He will then begin the battle, though he only uses magic attacks. You can kill him using any method, but we recommend Ranged or Melee for the best chance of success. Remember to keep some of your food until this point in the battle; it is inevitable that it will be needed for you to be successful.
