Recruitment Drive RS3: Complete Walkthrough

By Jesus Marquez | Created: December 25, 2023 | Last updated: December 17, 2024 | Read Time: 10 minutes

The beginnings are important, and going through a quest series can be rewarding in many ways inside games like RuneScape 3. Recruitment Drive in RS3 is just the tip of the iceberg in the Temple Knight series, which involves the Temple Knights, those in charge of protecting Saradomin against any possible threat.

Recruitment Drive RS3 is the first quest of the series, followed by other quests like Wanted!, Slug Menace, Salt in the Wound, and others that complete the series and the lore of the Temple Knights. For this quest, players will be involved in a recruitment process, where they have to solve some puzzles to test their wits and knowledge.

Before beginning the Recruitment Drive in RS3, you should know that the Temple Knights of Saradomin are a secret organization with several centuries of history. After the successful thwarting of the Black Knights’ plan to conquer Asgarnia, they are looking to expand their ranks with freshmen. Now, you are about to get your chance to become part of the organization thanks to Sir Amik's recommendation; are you ready for a new challenge?

RS3 Recruitment Drive Requirement

Ready to begin? RS3 Recruitment Drive quest is only available for Members, so players need to have an account with a membership. Apart from that, most players can partake, because this quest is novice difficulty, and the quest is mostly focusing on the puzzle side. However, players need to have the ability to defeat Sir Leye, one of the teachers; fortunately, he doesn’t have weapons or armor and is level 7. Apart from that, here’s what players must have to jump into the quest:

  • 3 Herblore
  • Ability to defeat a level 7 enemy without any items.
  • Have a female player character.

An essential part of this quest is to have a female character (avatar). Don’t worry, you can change your character's gender by going to Makeover Mage, located southwest of Falador and north of the Crafting Guild. Furthermore, we recommend reading the Sir Tinley and Lady Table sections before entering Recruitment Drive in RS3.

RS3 White Knights Castle

Recruitment Drive RS3 Guide

Once you change your character’s gender to a female, head into the Falador White Knights Castle and go upstairs to the second floor. You must look for Sir Amik Varze and talk to him to start the quest in this location. He will ask you to join the Temple Knights. If you accept, he will lead you to Sir Tiffy Cashien and begin your training.

Testing Grounds

Before speaking with Sir Tiffy, you must bank all your items and equipment. You’ll be expected to go through the training without anything in your inventory; the first test is a mental one, and it’s important you don’t have anything with you because Sir Cashien won’t let you start the quest if there is any item with you. Once you leave everything at the bank, head to speak with Sir Tiffy in Falador Park.

When Sir Cashien begins the test, he will take you to the testing grounds. You will see 7 different rooms; each with a yellow portal at the entrance that will return you to Falador. Likewise, you will find a yellow portal at the end of each room that will lead you to another room, but it’s only usable once you pass the room’s test. You will need to pass five in a row to complete the quest; however, if you fail, you will return to Falador and talk to Sir Cashien again to start over. The five tests you will get are completely random, as will the order of them.

Lady Table

One of the tests you may encounter is with Lady Table, who will test your memory. She will show you 11 statues in front of you; however, there are supposed to be 12, but one was taken away. Lady Table will give you a few seconds to look at the statues; the missing one will return. To solve this puzzle, you must touch the statue that was missing seconds ago.

This test will need you to analyze the statue’s type. You will find 4 statues of 3 different materials: bronze, silver, and gold. Look at which group has only 3 statues; after being sure if there is a missing statue of a certain material, focus on the weapon they carry. There are only 4 weapons: sword, halberd, greataxe, and mace. Once you figure out which material and which weapon is missing, you will be able to touch the correct statue with confidence.

One great tip is to screenshot the statues and take some extra time to look at the details. Furthermore, don’t speak with Lady Table during the ten seconds you have to find the missing statue because she will reset the order, and your time to discover the statue won’t reset, allowing you less time to pick the right statue.

Sir Kuam Ferentse

For this next test, Sir Kuam Ferentse will tell you to defeat Sir Leye, a level 7 enemy. It is this test that requires you to be a female character because Sir Leye has a blessing from Saradomin himself, and no man can defeat him. Being a female character, you can land the final blow on him; once you beat him, you pass the test; it's as simple as that.

We recommend having a decent combat level (10) since it could be hard to face him without weapons. If you have a low combat level, this can pose difficulty, in which case we recommend using Legacy Mode. If you are unfortunate enough to die during this quest, don't worry; re-enter the Training Grounds through Sir Cashien and continue with the testing. If you make any progress, you won’t lose it, as deaths do not rest the quest process.

Sir Spishyus

If you choose to face this test, you will find just right next to Sir Spishyus, a 5 kg chicken, a 5 kg bag of grain, and a 5 kg fox. You will need to figure out how to move all three across the bridge without allowing the chicken to eat the grains or the fox to eat the chicken. In other words, you can’t leave the chicken with the grains alone or the fox with the chicken. One more thing, you can only carry one thing with you while crossing the bridge. That’s the tricky part; that’s why you need to make some extra trips to avoid conflict between the chick, grains, and the fox.

Here is what you must do:

  1. Take the chicken first to the other side. The fox and the grain can get along without a problem.
  2. Leave the chicken, then come back and grab the fox, and take it to the other side.
  3. Once there, drop the fox and grab the chicken again. You must take the chicken to the other side again.
  4. Drop the chicken and grab the grain. Take the grain across the bridge.
  5. Drop the grain, then go back to the beginning for the chicken and take it across.

With this formula, you can easily pass the test and head to the portal for the next puzzle.

Miss Cheevers

Once you speak to Miss Cheevers, you will discover you must make a duplicate key to unlock the final door and pass the next test. She will tell you the resources are limited, and if you mess up, you will head to Falador and start again.

During the test, you will have to go through different doors. The first one is missing a handle, and the second one is locked. You must search in the bookcases and crates in the room to find these items:

  • Cupric ore powder
  • Cupric sulphate
  • Gypsum
  • 1 tin
  • 4 vials of liquids, but upon examining them, will change to Dihydrogen Monoxide
  • Tin ore powder
  • 1 knife, chisel, or bronze wire (you only need one)
  • 1 metal spade

Extra material you find won’t be needed, so anything outside this list isn’t required. At this point, be careful to mix two wrong substances because it will create a ??? mixture. As Miss Cheevers explained, you must mix the substance correctly since you only have one chance to get it right. Here’s what you need to do to pass the test:

  1. To get past the first door, take the metal spade and use it on the bunsen burner on the table to remove the wood, leaving a metal spade head.
  2. Use the spade head on the door. Wait to click Pull-spade stone-door.
  3. Use the cupric sulphate on the door.
  4. Add one of the vials of liquid. This will make the spade expand, trapping it in the hole. It can then be pulled to open the door.
  5. To get past the second door, use the gypsum on the tin, then the vial of liquid on the tin to get a clay substance.
  6. Next, find a key chained to the wall and use the tin of clay to get an imprint.
  7. Add the cupric ore powder and tin ore powder to the tin.
  8. Use it on the bunsen burner to make a bronze key.
  9. Use the knife, chisel, or bronze wire on the tin to scrape the key out.
  10. Take your key and unlock the door.

After doing all these, you can pass the test and continue your journey through the puzzles.

Sir Ren Itchood

If you have the chance to talk to Sir Ren Itchood, he will tell you, in riddles, you must find the answer to which four-letter word it is. You need to focus on the first character of each line of the riddle, and there will be an answer to what he is saying. The possible solutions for the riddle are MEAT, BITE, LAST, PASS, TIME, CLUE, RAIN, and FISH.

Sir Tinley

Once you enter Sir Tinley’s room, talk to him and stand still, doing nothing until he speaks to you again. You must stay there; don’t move or look around because it will cause you to fail. Once he talks to you, you will pass the test seamlessly. The only thing you need here is patience if you would rather not fail the easiest test on this quest.
