The quest that will change everything in the world of RuneScape, RS3 The World Wakes represents the end of the Fifth Age and the beginning of the Sixth Age. This change is a big step forward for all aspects of the game. It’s the first in the Slike’s quest series, and we recommend completing all the quests required with optional rewards before entering into this adventure. It’s all about understanding the character and the plot. Besides, you can start this quest when you feel like it without worrying about having to complete other quests.
The World Wakes RS3: Requirements
Mod Mark, a Jaguex Moderator, mentioned The World Wakes RS3 is the most important quest to date, and it’s essential to know it’s a member-only quest. It is a very long quest. As we mentioned, there are no requirements or previous quests you must complete, nor will you need any specific items to jump into this adventure. Since there are no RS3 skill requirements for The World Wakes, you can just dive into the action. However, we would recommend having the following for the best chance of success:
- 74 Firemaking
- 90 Prayer
- 70 Slayer
- Branches of Darkmeyer
- Ritual of the Mahjarrat
- The Chosen Commander
- The Firemaker's Curse
- The Void Stares Back
We recommend you have 100 Attack levels, but with a balanced set of skills for battle, around 70 on each one, you can take the risk to go through this quest. We also recommend bringing food with you, mostly high-tier food. Other items you may need are:
- Yew logs or better for a bonfire boost,
- Super Set potions,
- Super Ranging or Super Magic,
- Prayer Potion, or Super Restore.
Outside those items, you must get the best armor and weapons you have to fight every monster or god that appears in your way.
Who Will You Be Facing In The World Wakes RS3

The World Wakes RS3: Walkthrough
To begin with The World Wakes in RS3, you first need to speak with Orlando Smith; he can be found conducting an excavation west of the Legends' Guild and south of Thormac's tower. He will stumble on some ruins and will tell you about how these ruins can save his struggling career at the Varrock Museum. After he finishes the conversation, you will see the door of the ruins open, and you will enter with Orlando.
Guthix’s Home
Enter the room with Orlando; he will be amazed by the sights before you and ask which artifacts you think will be appropriate to take back to the museum. There will be five before you, a shattered blade, an inactive obelisk, stone carvings, clouded vials, and a dusty parchment. Inspect each and this will open a door to another room with a Guthixian butterfly statue.
Orlando will then try to lift the statue but will fail, then you will try and be successful. However, this will activate an alarm system and open another set of doors. It is at this stage of RS3 The World Wakes that we recommend having magic or ranged combat gear at the ready; your first enemy is about to make an entrance.
Fight in the Temple Guardian
When you both enter the room, the Automaton Generator, Guardian, and Tracer will activate and demand the Mahjarrat presence leave. Your attempts to reason with them will fall on deaf ears, and Orlando will be struck down for his persistence.
They will then demand the presence leave again before they make their first attack. As they use Melee, Magic, and Ranged, you'll need to prepare for all eventualities.
The automatons have the ability to thump the ground, causing big shock waves and massive damage that can kill you in seconds. We recommend taking down the melee Automaton first with ranged and magic attacks before it can stomp attacks directly at you. If you take down the Automaton fast enough, you can avoid the thumping attack successfully.
In any case, you want to fight with melee weapons; once the automaton starts its thumping attack, run from them and avoid taking the damage from the shocking waves. We recommend you turn off the auto-retaliate to avoid being dragged back to the shock waves by the magic and ranged automatons.
After killing the automatons, during the dialogue, back out, stating "Actually, I have something I need to do first." This will allow you ample time to restock and heal before the next battle if needed: “Actually, I have something I need to do first.” With this option, you will have a break to go to the bank and restore your health before the next fight in The World Wakes in RS3.
Picking a Side
When you kill the automatons in The World Wakes RS3, you will see a shadowy figure appear demanding to know who is disturbing Guthix. You’ll talk to him; he will tell you that he is Sliske and will ask you why you think you and Orlando were the ones who could open the doors and reveal that Guthix is downstairs sleeping.
After this, a cutscene plays showing the sword Guthix plunged into the wilderness along with his edicts that ended the God Wars and is now transmitting a signal to the stone circles indicating the alarm system has been activated. However, Guthixian no longer commands the stone circles. Zemouregal is the one who gets the news that the stone circle at Varrock is active; he will ask the wizard to find the source of the signal. The gods know what is happening, and they are telling their followers, the generals in God Wars Dungeons. You will see the commander Zilyana leaving. Now, the Zamorakians and Saradominists want to kill Guthix and delete everything he did from the world.
Silke tells you that as a believer of Zaros, he sees the possibility of waking Guthix and negotiating with him. You need to pick a side and tell them whom to support: the Zamorakians or Saradominists, the Zarosians who aim to wake Guthix, or the Guthixians who want to protect Guthix. Since you are trying to reach Guthix, the best option, initially, is to side with the Guthixians.
Kree’arra and Friends
When you continue with The World Wakes in RS3, Kree’arra, Zilyana, and K’ril Tsutsaroth will make their appearance. Tsutsaroth will storm into the next door of the temple, followed by Zilyana, and leave Kree’arra to deal with you. He will tell you to go, mentioning that killing for no reason is not the way of Armadyl. The problem here is that Kree’arra and the others are allied with the ones who want to kill Guthix, and you must fight them for that. Don’t you worry if you die here; your grave will be at the entrance of the ruins.
The battle will be relatively easier than the last encounter in the God Wars Dungeon but beware of the tornadoes. These tornadoes will move around the room, and if you are in the same square as them, you will receive damage equal to 20% of their maximum life points every game tick. Avoid all tornadoes, no matter what, especially the blue ones.
Kree’arra will use his special attack, saying, “Storms align to me!”. When this happens, he will walk into the center of the room, and the storms will get back to him. We recommend running away from him before he releases all the storms, and if you are close to him, you will surely die. The best way to defeat Kree’arra is with ranged attacks, as it allows for plenty of opportunities for movement to avoid attacks, while still allowing you to deal your own damage. This method allows you to make Kree’arra get stuck behind a pillar and make continuous attacks until he decides to do his special attack.
Unlike previous experiences in the God Wars Dungeon, melee attacks can be used. It's also a great option to use a Godsword since it deals great damage to Kree’arra. We recommend you use Protect from Ranged or Deflect Missiles; these items will help you to avoid the special attack damage, and you can recover your health by using food, but you need to avoid tornadoes. Once you finish Kree’arra, he will retreat.
The Gates Are Open
Take some time to bank again if you think it’s necessary before continuing with this RS3 The World Wakes guide. Once you are back, you must dismiss all the followers before entering. If you try to open the control panel before doing the follower dismiss, Juna will state that followers need to be dismissed even after it is dismissed. A cutscene will appear and will show you Commander Zilyana and K’ril Tsutsaroth trying but failing to open the next door. Zilyana will tell you to leave, but she and Tsutsaroth will go to find another way to get in.
In the middle of the room, there is a puzzle you need to solve before continuing with The World Wakes in RS3. On the eastern side of the room, you will see the control panel; try to operate it, and members of the Guardians of Guthix and some of their allies will interrupt your efforts. You will have to speak with them and explain you are on the same side. Thankfully, they will accept what you are saying because they will notice you have a connection with Guthix since the doors are open.
The guardians will explain how the walls of the Inner Sanctum are impenetrable using magic so that they can’t teleport any further than this; the only way to go forward is to open the door using the control panel. The puzzle you need to solve is to focus on guiding a boulder from the active corner to the activate destination; it’s a circle with a green dot inside the puzzle. You will need to build a path from the corner and connect with the destination; when you release the boulder, it must travel along the path you build. To release the boulder in each scenario, you only have to click on the active corner of the puzzle.
We recommend starting at the active corner and rotating each piece until it connects to other pieces properly. It’s a pretty straightforward process since there’s only one way possible to solve each puzzle. You must release the boulder more than once because it stops in every gateway; just click on the boulder again and continue following the path you created.
You may notice puzzles have a timing to do it right since conveyor belts change their direction every few seconds. Wait until the conveyor belts move in the right direction to release the boulder to roll through. This happens with Rotating pads, too, changing their direction every few seconds; wait until the track is pointing in the right direction to open the gate to make the boulder move. Once you make the boulder reach its destination, you will have to do another puzzle. You will need to repeat the process four times before the gates will open for you.
The New Guardian
Once you open the doors, you will see seven automatons and an Unknown figure, soon to be named as Cres. You will discover his identity because Juna recognizes him. Cres is an old ally of some guardians before the beginning of the God Wars and the fall of the Gods. The automatons won’t attack you as you examine the shrine behind Cres, the one that is labeled as a “strange map.”
Your next task in RS3 The World Wakes is Guthix’ door puzzle. You will have to complete each category, Good, Evil, Order, and Chaos, to exactly 50%. Each answer you mark will fill up 2 of the 4 categories by 25%. Read the answer carefully before you pick one of them. Sadly, if you go over 50%, Guthix will decline you, but you will get another chance to try again.
Upon completion of the map, you will trigger a cutscene showing how Guthix has given you his blessing. The guardians around will explain to you that now you are a guardian of Guthix, just like them.
Prove Yourself
After the blessing and becoming the newest guardian of Guthix, you must prove your worth physically to continue your journey in The World Wakes RS3. Take the troops to battle with the option you have in the chat box; don’t worry too much since the outcome of the fight won’t affect you directly; it will just change the chat responses.
They will ask you to assign each group of guardians to each of the storage rooms that are waiting for the next attack. You must read each description and assign the groups correctly. If you assign the groups wrongly, the battle will be extremely difficult. Here are our suggestions for this part of The World Wakes in RS3:
- Chaeldar and Thaerisk: The enemy that will go into this area is big and slow. They will use their immense strength to find a way through the rock since they are not the smartest people around to try differently.
- Cres and automatons: Many enemies will try to enter this room, and the smell of the undead gives you a hint. You will need someone who can lead these troops to undermine death itself.
- Death: You will hear that the enemy is large, slow, and heavy; however, it's not using only brute force to get through. The enemy is using magic, and you can also hear some demonic chanting alongside; they must be of high intelligence.
- Valluta and Fiara: For this room, you can expect some enemies to be small and nimble. They are also using magic so that they will have high resistance to magic attacks against them. The attacks sound aggressive, and they are beyond determined.
If you use another distribution of the troops, it is possible to see Fiara and/or Thaerisk die and be replaced outside the quest. Before entering each battle, Juna and the druids will give cauldrons of elixirs that provide power, health restoration, prayer, and remove poison. You can also speak with the druids to access your bank if you need it. Don’t drink from the cauldrons if you have Prayer or health boosted above the maximum because it will take your stats back to the maximum possible.
You can use Rocktail soups and bonfires alongside Super Potions to enhance your maximum Attack, Strength, Defense, and life points. Here, you can use Yew logs or better for the bonfire to increase your maximum life points; if you have a Combat level of 120 or above, you won’t need any of these, and the fights will be uncomplicated for you.
Try to use equipment that does not get lost or degrade if you die because it can be difficult for lower-level players to recharge and repair gear constantly. We recommend you use the Enhanced Excalibur, which only costs 500 coins.
General Graardor
This will be your first battle in all the rooms. You must take Chaeldar and Thaerisk with you. Once you enter, you will see General Graardor, who will attack you with all combat styles, but you must avoid his melee attack as it can inflict large amounts of damage; try to pray against the General. Graardor has basic attacks and three special attacks; he will use them randomly during the battle. Here is what you can expect from this enemy of The World Wakes RS3:
- “Graardor protect!” is what the General shouts during the battle. He will activate a shield to protect himself from attacks and will reflect some damage.
- “Graardor mad!” is the second special attack. General Graardor will also shout this phrase before he starts punching the area in front of him to deal increasing damage with every punch. However, he will take more damage; it’s a great time to attack after you find a safe spot.
- “Graardor smash!” for this shout, Graador slams his fist in front of him directly to the ground, causing heavy damage if you are in the attack zone. You can expect debris to fall from the ceiling, dealing high and rapid hits to you. Beware, this is the most dangerous attack, but you can avoid it easily by avoiding the shadow on the ground and running away. Since this attack is powerful, General Graardor’s fist will get stuck in the ground briefly. During this time, he will take double the damage, so don’t miss the opportunity to attack with a strong threshold or an ultimate ability. Be careful doing combos since you will take damage from the debris.
If you are using ranged or magic attacks, there is a safe spot where Graardor’s main melee attacks won’t hit, located in the southwest and southeast corners. The best strategy you can follow in this RS3 The World Wakes guide is when he is using “Graardor protect!” heal yourself, while he's using “Graardor mad!” run through and behind him; and finally, when he’s shouting, “Graardor smash!” click away and click back to avoid the attacks. Once he surrenders, he will retreat, and you can continue to the next room.
Zemouregal
This is arguably one of the most difficult battles during The World Wakes in RS3 because of all the damage taken over time. However, if you are one of those who can deal with heavy damage quickly, the tables will turn in your favor. Take Cres with you, and Zemouregal will conjure two blue portals; these must be destroyed before you will be able to inflict any damage to him.
When the portals are active, Zemouregal will not retaliate if you attack him. You need to destroy the portals while you are avoiding his undead minions. Once you complete this phase of destroying the portals, Zemouregal will begin attacking you with magic, and he will also spawn some help of red ‘Decaying Portals’ that will bring more zombies to defeat. You can easily ignore them if you wish but try to stay clear of them since they can deal with small but continuous amounts of magic damage.
Once you go over and destroy his portals, it’s time to take down his health to about 70%; at this point, Zemouregal will create four new blue portals. You will need to destroy them as before and try to deal as much damage as possible to him while he’s recovering. Once you destroy these portals, you will be able to defeat him.
We recommend having Ranged armor for this fight since you won’t expect any melee attacks from Zemouregal. It’s a great option to use action with recurring damage on him and those that hit fast on the portal. Consider bringing a Ricochet and Throwing weapons for this scenario of The World Wakes in RS3. Just as before, once you defeat Zemouregal, he will retreat, and you will appear in the next storage room, waiting for the upcoming battle.
K’ril Tsutsaroth
For this battle, you must take Death with you. It is an easy battle to face because it is a fight of tanking. K’ril will push spikes through the ground that damage you when you are on top of them. Simply move when you get the message in the chatbox, and you don’t need to worry about poison like it was during the God Wars Dungeon. You can take some damage from the poison, but it’s not a big deal; you can easily ignore the damage.
K’ril Tsutsaroth has three special attacks, and he will use them randomly during the battle. Here’s what you can expect for this boss of The World Wakes RS3 quest:
“You cannot stand against Zamorakian might!”: This is what he will shout when he slams one of his cleavers on the ground and makes the spikes emerge. This attack can cause heavy damage over time, so it’s better if you dodge it quickly.
“Run, coward!” K’ril will charge in the direction he’s facing at that moment, but if you move before he hits you, he will hit a wall and take some damage from it. He can turn his charge in your direction even after you have moved, so keep moving.
“Guthix will die in the name of Zamorak!” This is the most dangerous attack from K’ril. He will follow you around the room, attack you very rapidly, and deal you heavy damage per hit that you take. Beware, this attack can kill you quickly if you stay still instead of constantly running away from him.
It’s really effective to use magic against K’ril, but consider using melee as well because he will come close to you constantly. The most important thing to remember is when K’ril says something, run away from him immediately, then come back and attack. You can also find a safe spot in the northeast corner since K’ril is big and won’t be able to reach you or initiate his special attacks.
Once you finish this fight, you will be summoned to the final storage room to battle the final boss, Enakhra.
Enakhra
This can be the longest battle of all four since Enakhra will steal your life points to heal herself. Ensure to bing some extra food for the fight since you will start the next stage of The World Wakes in RS3 right away. Also, take with you Fiara and Valluta, and beware of how much damage Enakhra will deal to you; that’s the amount she will heal (before any damage reductions) during her special attack.
Before jumping into this battle of The World Wakes RS3, you must consider adding Freedom and Anticipation abilities to your action bar. For the first half of her life bar, she will ask for Zamorak’s aid every 15 seconds, so you must be already moving around 13 or it can be quite tedious if you're around level 100.
During the battle, she will call Zamorak to help her heal while leeching the health from you. You must stop this by breaking the connection, running behind any obstacle in the room, or making attempts to stun her; she’s immune to stuns, but this will still work. Every time you get away from her, she will teleport closer to your location to continue with the battle. We recommend you have auto-retaliate turned off during this battle to enable the breaking of the link while you are running away.
“Not so fast!” is the beginning of one of her attacks when Enakhra is below 50% health. She will pin you to the ground to drain you. This is like a stun, and you can escape from this using the Freedom ability when you are already pinned or the Anticipation ability before this happens. You can also avoid this attack by moving every few seconds because movement is what triggers this ability from her. Don’t consider the last option if using melee and looking for a quicker battle, as this will prolong events.
A good way to defeat this boss of The World Wakes in RS3 is to range her since it’s easier to hit her than melee. We recommend bringing food and a bunyip if you can to heal you between attacks and dodging her. Another great method is to click attack, then click somewhere behind a boulder; she will follow you, and you will be able to attack her without delays.
A way to minimize Enakhra’s healing is by the hugging technique; you will need to play around with an obstacle inside the room that is 2x2 in size. You must stay near the obstacle, and when she starts leeching you, just run to the other side. You can also dismiss the leeching by using low-healing food. Enakhra’s healing will be 10% of your actual life points per second; the maximum she can heal is 22 life points per second, even if her life is over 50%. If you only eat cabbages when you are 20 life points or less, she can only damage you 1 life point per second.
For the next stage of this RS3 The World Wakes guide we recommend having a high-damage weapon like a Crystal bow, food that can heal you for a long period, and if you use a bunyip you can put the food aside. Use Ranged attacks, Protect from Magic, or Deflect Magic if you use the Ancient Curses.
After you defeat her, you will be called back to the lobby to prepare for the next battle, but this time, you won’t have a chance to bank.
Defending Juna
Once you finish with all the bosses in The World Wakes in RS3, it’s time to defend Juna from all the Saradomin combatants for about 2 minutes, ensuring you prevent her from losing any health or dying. This won’t be a challenge since the spiritual warriors, rangers, and mages are only level 49; just attack each of them to make them focus on you instead of Juna. You need to kill them quickly to stay in time. Try to repair the barriers as the warriors take them down. Use multitarget attacks like Ancient Magicks to delete them quickly and move faster instead of targeting each warrior individually.
Once you finish defending Juna, Commander Zilyana will appear and charge against Cres, stabbing him with a killing blow. She will think she killed the God of Balance easily before knowing it was just a guardian. The moments after this event, the Zarosian Mahjarrat Akthanakos, Azzanadra, and Wahisietel arrive with Char and Nex, trapping Zilyana.
The Aftermath: A Big Decision
This must be an important part of The World Wakes in RS3 because it will be the one to decide if you wake up Guthix and learn from him, leave him to rest or kill him. No matter your choice, an unknown person will break the tableau, and it will show the pathway directly to Guthix. Juna thinks the Zarosian’s altercate was a distraction, but Azzanadra will say anything that happened was in their plans.
Zilyana will claim there is nobody else except the leader of the faction you chose; back at the beginning of the quest, they will say they don’t know what happened either and tell you to follow the person who broke the tableau. All of this is to try to reach Guthix first.
Here, you must face the most important decision in The World Wakes RS3:
If you choose to wake or destroy Guthix, you will have to take Death and Valluta to the place where Guthix is resting. You will need to avoid the purple spirit balls that are around. This ball trail will lead you to your destination while you’re moving at running speed. Be careful because you can take massive damage and even die by running under one of those. Run through the end of the room as fast as you can to avoid any problems. You may see spikes emerging from the ground that will slow you down and prevent you from moving into the path. If you get trapped by the spike, wait until the purple sphere goes through so you avoid taking damage more than once or running under it.
If you choose to leave Guthix to rest, Char and Nex will attack you. You have to avoid the fireballs that Char sends you, and Nex will use icicles as attacks. Nex will trap you in an ice prison now and then; however, you must notice reaching Guthix will be easier; you will take the timing between fireballs dropping to the tracks in front of you to place yourself between the wave in front of you and the one behind you. Thankfully, the fireball follows the same pattern every time, so it won’t take too much effort to determine the pattern. You can get to Guthix with zero damage using this method.
Guthix Memories
You will reach Guthix regardless of your decision in The World Wakes RS3. Sliske will show himself and reveal he betrayed you and the Zarosians and mortally wounds Guthix using the Staff of Armadyl with a powerful spell. Guthix will ask you to come to him, and he will transport you to his home world memories. Guthix will appear as his original mortal self and will explain his past, before telling you he found the planet Gielinor and brought the races known today. You must follow him to each location, past the dead Nagari and the corpse of Skagaroth. Eventually, you will reach his old house.
Guthix will explain to you the immense power you now hold to defend against the gods. He will ask you if you can do what he requests and protect the world from the gods. At this point, you have to choose to accept his request, declare loyalty to another god, or just follow your path, trying to find godhood by yourself. Whatever you decide, Guthix will die after he lies down on his bed, telling you to forget everything about him and remember your purpose.
When you wake up from the vision Guthix gave you in RS3 The World Wakes, you will be next to Guthix’s petrified body again. The Guthixians, Zarosians, and Commander Zilyana will be there. Juna will ask you what happened, but the one who will answer is Death, telling them that those responsible for this are Mahjarrat Sliske.
Azzanadra and the other Zarosian Mahjarrat will be upset with Guthix’s death and will complain because it was not supposed to have come to this point. Char and Nex won’t care about the situation. Juna is also upset, claiming that the edicts broke and that another God War will begin. You will have to pick an option here, telling her you will stop the war, you will support a god of your choice, or you will strive for godhood yourself. A few moments after this choice, you will see the god Saradomin appear and teleport the Zarosians away, claiming there is no place for a new battle.
This god will ask you what you think about him, giving you three options to choose. No matter what you pick, he will teleport you away since he sees the chamber as a new place to create a headquarters; you will meet him again, undoubtedly. When he splashes the spell, he will notice the blessing from the Guthix, and he will ask you what knowledge he gave you before he dies. Whatever you say to him, Saradomin will teleport you away, saying that it is an honor to have the blessing. Still, he will warn you to keep on the right side when the next conflict begins. You must speak to Juna once you reach your new location after teleportation.
Juna will believe what you told her at first, but after some talking with Death, you will realize that they are still following the plans of Guthix, and some good comes from this. Juna will hand you the rewards, and there you have it, you just completed The World Wakes RS3.
