Waterfall Quest RS3 Walkthrough

Once players decide to start the Waterfall Quest, they must travel to the Baxtorian Falls. There will be a mix of everything in this quest, giving the perfect match for a great adventure. Prepare yourself; we’re going out!

Hidden treasure!?

Once you start Waterfall Quest in RS3, enter the house, and you will find Almera, speak with her to accept the quest and begin your journey. She will talk about how her son, Hudon, is looking for a hidden treasure near the river.

Almera will ask you to check on her son; you will need to take the log raft from outside the house; here’s where the rope will come in handy. Furthermore, you have to repair the rope rack once you exit the house. Some players prefer to repair the log raft before entering the house and talk with Almera; it’s an option, so you can do whatever works best for you.

Paranoid Kid, Baxtorian, and Glarial

With the log raft repaired and your journey underway, it will seem like smooth sailing. That is before you crash into a small island with Hudon on the shore. Speak with Hudon immediately upon disembarking the raft and insist he returns home to his mother. He will refuse, stating he is there to stay until he finds the hidden treasure. Asking him to help won’t work either. Since he will reject your offer, thinking you only want to steal his jackpot.

With nothing left to say or lose, face south and swim, following the river stream until you reach the shore; now go north until you find yourself at the Tourist Information Center. There, you will need to speak with Hadley, and he will tell you a detailed story about Baxtorian Falls. You will need to go upstairs and search the bookcases to find the Book on Baxtorian.

Once you read the book, you will learn about the area originally inhabited by elven colonies, once led by King Baxtorian and his wife, Glarial. King Baxtorian, during his long reign, hid valuable treasures under the waterfall, as the only people able to enter were him and his wife. Some additional knowledge gained is about the Glarial’s pebble, a key that opens Glarial’s tomb. To find it, search beneath the Tree Gnome Village.

Tree Gnome Village

At this stage, you reach a fork in the road, metaphorically, of course, but you will be presented with two options. It will depend on whether you completed the Tree Gnome Village quest or not. If you have it, use the Amulet of Glory(4) to teleport you to Edgeville; from there, look for the Spirit tree northeast of the Grand Exchange and use it to teleport into the Tree Gnome Village; however, if you didn’t complete the Tree Gnome Village quest, you will need to teleport using a Yanille’s lodestone if you have it activated or head to the Tree Gnome Village.

Another alternative is Teleporting to East Ardougne and going south or using a Ring of dueling for teleporting to Castle Wars and heading north. Using these options, players will have to navigate the maze. To avoid any complications, we recommend completing the Tree Gnome Village quest before going through the Waterfall quest.

One extra tip is to enter the maze from the northwest part. Once in the village, head southwest through the loose railing and enter the dungeon. During this part, lower-level players have to be cautious, as they’ll find level 12 and 29 zombies, level 44 giant bats, and level 28 hobgoblins. Inside the dungeon, you will need to search for the odd-colored crate in the east part. In the crate, you’ll find a key that will free Golrie from his prison in the western passageway. Unlock Golrie's cell, head inside, and speak with him; this will prompt him to give you the precious Glarial’s pebble.

Glarial’s Tomb

With the pebble in your possession, head to the bank; if you’re able to, use the bank chest at the Barbarian Outpost; it will prove more convenient. Free yourself from any item in your inventory, armor, runes, enchanted jewelry, and weapons, except Glarial’s pebble, as the tomb is a sacred burial place. Glarial’s tomb is southeast of Baxtorian Falls; make sure to bring food with you on this expedition, as you may encounter zombies and skeletons inside

The entrance is in a well-defined greystone area; use the Glarial’s pebble to enter the tomb. Once inside, head west to pass over the monsters and look for a chest which, upon location you will receive Glarial’s amulet. This amulet is the key to accessing the Waterfall Dungeon, so it is important to make the drop trick for later quests. Before leaving the tomb, go into the southern corridor and search for the Glarial’s urn. Now, you can teleport to the Barbarian Outpost again or climb the ladder, but right now, it’s time to return to Almera’s house.

Waterfall Dungeon

Once you are outside the tomb, it is time to go to the bank again and withdraw a rope, 6 Water runes, 6 Air runes, 6 Earth runes, food and armor, and some extras if it suits you. Don’t forget to keep Glarial’s amulet and Glarial’s urn in your inventory. When you are again at Almera’s House, head outside and board the log raft once more and use the rope with the rock and the dead tree to reach the ledge.

Open the door on the ledge and enter the Waterfall Dungeon. Inside the dungeon are three passageways. Head into the eastern one and search for the odd crate to find a key. Beware of the level 19 Skeleton Mages and level 58 Giant skeletons. When you get the key, head to the western passage and past the fire giants. Use the key to open the doors that follow to enter the Temple.

The Temple

Inside the Temple, there will be 2 statues and 6 pillars. You will need to place 1 Water rune on each pillar first, then 1 Air rune on each pillar, and finally place 1 Earth rune on each. If you leave the temple before placing all the runes, you will need to start again with 6 new runes. Runes disappear after placing them, so ensure you are cautious about your movements during the ritual.

After placing all the runes on the 6 pillars, you will head to the center and use the Glarial’s amulet on her statue. This will make the ground rise and show a chalice in the center. It’s time to use the Glarial’s urn to complete the quest. It’s important to know you need to use Glarial’s urn before touching the chalice because you will be flushed out of the Temple, and you will have to get another Glarial’s amulet to try again.
