RS3: How to the Quest
Before starting the quest, players must be in the McGrubor’s Wood; a fenced area located north of Hemenster and west of Seers’ Village. In this location, players will find numerous Oak trees, but to the southwest section, players will find the specific tree that kick-starts You Are It in RS3.
Chopping a Tree, Solve a Mystery
After finding the specific tree that is 10 paces west and 10 paces south of the crate in McGrubor’s Wood. This tree could be found directly by using the Fairy Ring with the code A L S. One thing to note is that this tree is a normal tree, not an oak tree. Once you begin chopping the tree, a cutscene will begin, in which a double agent is shown close by and gives you the mysterious clue scroll; once you read it, the quest begins.
Reldo
Inside the mysterious scroll, the word “URIT” is written repeatedly; part of the puzzle is to focus on the letters and find the word that ends with the character T. Only by reading the different letters, players will find a name, “RELDO”. That’s your cue to head to Varrock Place and speak to the NPC, Reldo.
You'll find Reldo in the Varrock Palace Library, where he will warn you about the clue scrolls and the consequences they bring; it may cause you to either die or go missing if you don’t follow the instructions as the clue shows. He signs the scroll, and when you read it again, the clue changes to this text: “Cry next to Duke Horacio, Panic before you talk to me, Equip nothing. Nothing at all.”. With the new clue, head to Lumbridge, paying a visit to Duke Horacio’s chamber.
Duke Horacio’s Chamber
Once you are in Lumbridge, you will need to climb the staircase leading to the second floor. In the northern room, you will find Duke Horacio’s chamber, with the Duke inside. At this point, you should unequip all your items/armor and then use the cry emote first, causing a spark of energy, then use the panic emote near the Duke. The second action will trigger a cutscene where you are surrounded by the Double agent looking like a Ripper demon wearing a hat, with Ripper demons around him. After this cutscene, another will follow. This shows Uri and Duke Horacio; when the cutscene concludes, you will be given the next clue.
The Graveyard
The new mysterious clue scroll will see you searching for a coordinate (00 degrees 58 minutes north, 25 degrees 01 minutes east), which, fortunately, is near the castle. Once you find the place, go downstairs and go out the door or teleport again to the Lumbridge lodestone. When you hit the outside, head southeast and locate the graveyard.
Once there, you will need to make your way to the light, just west of the south gate, and dig near it without any tool by hovering the mouse and right-clicking; this will uncover the next clue. Another cutscene will begin. You will see Uri looting a casket he took from the grave, and as the cutscene ends, the Double Agent will appear. He will speak with you, and as the cutscene ends, you will receive a Locked casket and an update to the mysterious clue scroll.
Searching for the Key
It is time to read the updated mysterious clue scroll; this time, things will be easier because you will have a map of the next location. You’ll need to travel to Port Sarim, so go west to Rimmington. Upon arriving, you will have to use the player-owned house portal, which will trigger another cutscene showing Uri again, but this time, he is speaking with a woman about burying her dead husband. Once the cutscene ends, the mysterious scroll will have once again been updated.
After reading once more, you will discover that the scroll now shows a riddle that can be used to help you find the next location in this exciting journey. Next, travel to Draynor Village and enter the Manor, located north of the lodestone. Once you enter the Manor, find the west room and search the bookshelves in the northwest corner; this should provide you with a Casket Key. This key will open the Locked casket, giving you an Old necklace and an updated scroll.
Scanning Clue Scroll
The new mysterious clue is a compass clue that leads to the starting point of the quest; make sure you still have the rope at this point; it will come into play shortly. The compass will point directly to the star point, so head back to McGrubor’s Wood, but go directly south of the building; you will find a wooden crate. Take some steps south and dig; this action will uncover a mysterious hole where you are standing. Investigating the hole, you will be given the option to add the rope, do so, and descend into the abyss.
You will find yourself underground, and you must first go north and then change to the east to enter the main chamber. There, you will find a coffin; investigate it to get the Charos’s Journal and start a new cutscene. In this cutscene, you will see Uri praying over Charos’ grave before a booming voice is heard overhead, and he is swallowed by the earth.
The Double agent appears at the end of the cutscene, and you can ask him all your questions. However, the more relevant question is option 3; you will ask him what happens next, giving you a hint about selecting the proper statue in the next stage of the journey just to avoid being killed. At this point, you already know Uri was trapped because he intended to rob Charos’ grave and was cursed as a result; now, he wants to get out of there.
Final moves
Once you asked him all the questions, walk to the shelves located west of the coffin. On this shelf, you will find 10 different statues, and you have to choose the stone-shaped one and smash it. Picking the wrong statue will kill you; fortunately, it is a safe death, so you will reappear outside the crypt to try again. You have to read Charos’ Journal to find the right answer, finding he fashioned a ball with a chain to make it look like the Stone of Jas.
The correct answer among the 10 options is option 6. Immediately after making your selection, a new cutscene will show you selecting the statue, breaking the statute, and receiving a puzzle casket. Now, you will see the Double agent vanish, and Uri appears in his place. When the cutscene finishes, walk to the west to speak with Uri. He will greet you and thank you profusely for what you did. Uri thought he would never see this day: tell him about the Old necklace that once belonged to Charos and that he may now use it to have his questions about the diplomat answered. After this conversation, Uri will reward you with your due items, and the quest is complete, finally.
