Crocodile Tears RS3: Navigating The Hostile Quest

By Jesus Marquez | Created: January 19, 2024 | Last updated: July 11, 2025 | Read Time: 12 minutes

Crocodiles are now attacking citizens in Menaphos; it’s your time to enter the scene and restore the balance. Crocodile Tears in RS3 is the second quest of the fifth age taking place in the city of Menaphos. This will be the first quest that you come face to face with a Menaphite Goddess. It all begins when crocodiles become hostile with no logical explanation, but there is suspicion it has something to do with the Goddess Crondis, who was known to keep them civil and passive for some time. Someone must be behind these bizarre occurrences affecting the Goddess's behavior; Is Amascut, the demigod of destruction, behind all of this in Crocodile Tears in RS3?

Crocodile Tears RS3: Requirements

For requirements, it’s important to note that Crocodile Tears in RS3 is only available for Members. Likewise, it can be a hard quest since players need to defeat a high-level enemy, Ukundaku level 108, to be able to finish this quest. Besides that, the requirements are not too much. Here’s the list:

  • 30 Agility
  • 72 Fishing
  • 73 Hunter
  • 47 Woodcutting
  • A Rope
  • 3-5 Fish bait
  • A Cat
  • At least 28,000 gold to buy croc ice

We also recommend the following items, while not essential, will help you travel, teleport, and have a better chance to defeat Ukundaku during Crocodile Tears in RS3.

  • 100 Combat
  • Food and combat equipment for the boss fight
  • Pharaoh's Sceptre, Sceptre of the Gods, or Sophanem Slayer Dungeon Teleport Tablets (for quick travel to Sophanem and the Agility Pyramid)
  • Traveller's Necklace (for quick access to the source of the River Elid)
  • Desert Amulet 2 or higher (for easy access to the Uzer Mastaba)
  • TokKul-Zo also works (teleport to the TzHaar Fight Cave, use the fairy ring to DLQ, and then run east)
  • Dominion Medallion (for quick access to the Water Ravine Dungeon)
  • Seer's Headband 1 or above for double logs when hunting the plover birds
  • Waterskins or Enchanted Water Tiara for desert heat
  • Super Energy Potion or Explorer's Ring 4 to refresh run energy
  • Port District Teleport/Slayer Codex (if unlocked) and Imperial District Teleport Tablets, or access to the Menaphos lodestone

RS3 Crocodile Tears Walkthrough

Before you begin this quest, you have to be in the Kharidian Desert and speak with Senliten. Getting by in the desert is an easy enough job, but it’s quite the hike; consider it your relaxation time before the beginning of Crocodile Tears in RS3. To begin this quest, you must speak to Leela and Senliten in Senliten’s Tomb.

Fearful Crocodiles

After you talk to them and begin Crocodile Tears in RS3, you must head to the Uzer Mastaba to speak with the Pharaoh Queen, just between the ruins of Uzer and Nardah. Here, you have to make your way to Senlinte, the pharaoh queen. Talk to her about the quest, and she will tell you a story about how she and her retinue were waylaid near the River Elid and how one of the attendants was attacked by a crocodile. She will also tell you about her realization that due to the modest yet determined actions of the crocodile, she sees the nature of the minor god, Crondis.

At this point, Leela adds that the crocodile near the Elid has been attacking the citizens of Pollnivneach and Nardah lately, dragging them down into the river. She remarks that it could be an issue in relation to their patron goddess, but due to you being a skeptic, she will direct you to the Sphinx in Sophanem to speak with Jex, the priest, and gather intel.

The Minor Deity Crondis

When you arrive, you’ll find Jex in the doorway of a temple for the minor deities located in the northeast corner of Sophanem. The Sphinx will be found roaming to the north of Klenter’s Pyramid; remember, though, if you wish to speak with it, you must have a cat either following you or in your pack.

Speak with both regarding the minor gods but focus more on the crocodile goddess, Crondis. Still, you can go over all the dialogues about the other gods if it pleases you. For this instance, you will take a while if you go over all the dialogues outside the one center on Crondis. You have to go through all the dialogues to understand why Crondis is so important. Jex will tell you about the crocodile's growing brazenness and point out that he believes something is wrong with the deity.

After the long talk with Jex and the Sphinx, it’s time to return to Senlinten’s tomb and speak with her again. During this conversation, she will charge you to bring back the modesty of the crocodiles, so you must locate Crondis and resolve her problems. To aid your search, the queen allows you to take a relic she got from a genie that helped her find an oasis in the middle of the desert when she needed it.

Oasis

Following what Senliten tells you, the relic, a dowsing rod, will be inside the boat replica just at the mastaba’s entrance passage. You must head to Leela and speak with her to exit the temple and re-enter by selecting the ‘explore’ option, this will allow you to enter the passages quickly. Finally, you must head north and loot the stone ship to get the dowsing rod.

Use this dowsing rod and head toward the arrow points until you get a chat message. We recommend bringing food like Energy potion or mint cakes since you will be traveling through the desert for a while. While using the dowsing rods, you have to click on it, and it will pop up an interface with an arrow; try not to close it because there are some bugs, and the quest may glitch if you close this arrow interface. If this glitch happens, your character doesn’t start speaking when you arrive in the oasis. To restart this stage of the quest, destroy the dowsing rod and begin your search for the oases again.

You can teleport to nearby locations with the Pharaoh’s Sceptre, like Agility Pyramid, to reach Sophanem and the Bandit Camp and be able to be close to the Bedabin camp. It’s possible to break the dowsing rod’s tracking by teleporting to Bandit Camp lodestone, so we recommend you avoid doing it if you would rather not restart this part of the quest.

The dowsing rod will lead you to three oases. Here is the location that the relic will lead you:

  • The first one will be northwest of the temple; following the arrow will lead to the oasis; however, this location doesn’t look like a place where the minor goddess Crodis will be.
  • The second oasis is located on Camel Warrios Island, heading east from the Sophanem. There are possibilities to find the goddess here.
  • The third one is in the Bedabin camp, north of the Bandit Camp lodestone.

Once you find the three oases, the dowsing rod will stop working as it should, so you will need to return it to Senliten.

Recharging the Relic

Upon your arrival in Senliten’s Tomb, Senliten will realize she has to tweak the relic a little to be able to locate Crondis properly. For the relic to do that, you must seek the Elid elements, Tirrie, Nirrie, and Hallak, at the Water Ravine Dungeon, the source of the River Elid.

Once you are assigned to this task, you must go out of the mastaba and head to the northwest, right to the headwaters of the Elid, just to find the desert’s northern cliffs. At this point, you can use a Dominion Medallion, teleport into the Dominion Tower, and head to the northern side of the tower. If you have a Traveller’s Necklace, teleport to the south part of the Desert Eagle’s eyrie and run to the west.

After you are at the Water Ravine Dungeon, it’s time to use the rope to climb the waterfall, and you have to use the relic as a key to go through a set of doors. Once you are in, run along the shore and find the Elid elements for their help charging the relic. They will agree to help you, and the dowsing rod will then be able to accurately locate Crondis.

The rod will now point to the southwest, at the Port district region of Menaphos. If applicable, you can use the Port district teleport or any other method like the charter ship or Shifting Tombs to reach the location faster. If players have a player-owned house in Menaphos or they completed the Love Story quest, it’s an option to teleport the player-owned house (chipped). Once you are there, on the western docks, you must look for the Portmaster Kags and speak with him; he will help you reach the isle, where Crondis’s pyramid is located.

Crondis and Tamsah

It’s time to head inside the Crondis’s pyramid once you reach it. Inside, you will face the goddess Crondis herself and Tamsah, her overworked High Priest. Tamsah will try to discreetly warn you about Crondis’ behavior has become less resourceful and modest, in an attempt to ensure the goddess does not overhear him. You must ask Crondis to help with the crocodiles’ attack on the desert’s inhabitants. She just tells you hungry crocodiles are a usual thing. At this point, the goddess will command you to bring her a fancy snack.

It is important you wait for Crondis to make her demands, any attempts to give her items already in your inventory will be unsuccessful and deemed not fresh enough. Once you find the items, head back to the Pyramid and talk to Tamsah or Crondis to hand over the offerings. Here’s the list and where to find each of them easily.

  • First, Tamsah will tell you to find some fresh beltfish. You can find these in Menaphos’ Port district or the Imperial district in the VIP skilling area.
  • After this, Crondis will demand some toothpicks to clean her teeth. These must be from two acadia logs. Find these in Menaphos’ Imperial district.
  • The third offering Crondis will demand is a new top for her pyramid, comprising four golden pyramid tops. To get these, head to the Agility Pyramid and make four laps to obtain pyramid tops. You can travel to this pyramid faster with a Desert Amulet 4 or Pharaoh’s scepter. Once you have done with the laps, climb the wall of the western side of the pyramid.
  • Once you replace the top, Crondis will command you to get eight plover birds to use as toothpicks since the acadia logs didn’t work properly. You can find these birds by heading south of Sophanem, in Sophanem Slayer Dungeon. You will find these birds in the deadfall traps, and you have to free them with some logs obtained for the palm trees nearby. Sadly, you will get only one bird even if you catch multiple ones. You can also head to the hunting area if you use the Menaphos lodestone and talk to Coenus at the bridge, and then you must head south.
  • Crondis will still be insatiable and command you to bring her 16 croc ices for her sweet teeth. You can buy them in Nardah; Rokuh sells these. You have to deliver this running since teleporting will only make these croc ices turn into chocolatey goop. For this offering, you have to bring more than just the 16 since you will eat some automatically, and we recommend buying and filling out the inventory of them and heading back as fast as possible. You can take the magic carpet from Nardah directly to Menaphos to avoid running out of ice when hurrying to Crondis again. Even if you have extra croc ices, they will be taken from your inventory once you return to give Crondis the offering.

Once you give her the 16 croc ices offering, she will demand 32 more. At this point, you can rebuke her greed or just stay silent, which allows you to quickly bank and take all your needed items to face this combat. We recommend having a full backpack of food or healing potions since fighting Ukunduka would be tough, and with the special ability he has, he can steal some of your food items one by one.

Ukunduka

When you finish getting your gear, food, and extra items, speak with Crondis again. She will ask you again for offerings, but you can refuse them and rebuke her greedy behavior. Crondis will swell with anger, caught off guard by your accusation, she will be unable to finish her sentence before she spits up some corruption in the form of a crocodile warrior named Ukunduka.

This warrior has 75,000 life points and can use melee and ranged attack in combat. You can find a safe spot in the stairs leading up to Crondis, making this crocodile warrior use ranged and magic attacks only. He can use melee attacks but won’t do much damage. If you want to fight him using melee, he can use his special move, but you can carry some onions, cabbages, or other cheap food so as not to waste your high-healing food. Don’t use Purple sweets since they won’t count, and Ukunduka won’t eat them.

We recommend you stack the cheap food at the top of your backpack and the high-healing one at the bottom, as his special ability begins with the leftmost food item and works from the top line of your inventory downward. Furthermore, be aware that Ukunduka doesn’t treat raw fish, Saradomin brews, and baron sharks as food.

Next Plans

Once you defeat the crocodile warrior, head back and talk to Crondis, who is now dispossessed of any bad behavior, with much relief to her High Priest. Ask Crondis, once again, to address the crocodile attacks in the desert, and she will agree this time.

It’s time to head back to Senliten’s Tomb again, but this time, you will find Osman arguing with Leela upon your arrival. They discuss the handling of the problem of Menaphos. Leela will defend her support of the queen and your aid during these events, while Osman will put down your efforts, seeing his plans as the only path available. The spymaster will get back to you to ask for your support in the near future before you leave them in that discussion.

Now you have to talk to Senliten about what happened in Crondis’ pyramid and how she will now have the power to restore order, once again, to the crocodile kin. After this, the Queen and Leela calm down when you inform them about Ozan’s efforts to find Kharid-ib under Menaphos. This discussion will continue with a cut scene where Jarabi tells the Pharaoh that Amascut’s hold over Crondis was removed. In this discussion, you will see how they are increasing the payments to bandits to keep the citizens in the city fearful and will keep the greater plan to replace the Menaphite Pantheon. Now it’s done; you have completed Crocodile Tears in RS3.
